History
Our journey began back in 2009 when a group of parents from the St Marys and Newtown areas of Southampton expressed an interest to set up a community resource that would offer something different to help children:
- raise their aspirations;
- shape their identity; and
- become productive citizens.
Following discussion with a wider body of parents - mainly from the Muslim community - and liaison with mainstream and independent education practitioners, Fitrah SIPS opened its doors for the first time in September 2010 with 48 children from Years 1 to 5
